I just had to tell everyone that Torey Hayden is my hero. I've only read One Child because I never new she wrote others until tonight. I'm so excited to read them! One Child inspired me like nothing else ever has. I always kind of knew I was interested in working with kids but I never knew for sure until I read One Child for the first time. I LOVE that book. It's like everything beautiful and good the heart wishes for is wrapped up in One Child. Shelia reminds me of a girl I once knew that I too became to love. I thought of her as my little sister. She moved almost 5 years ago and I haven't heard from her since. I miss her very much. Shelia dancing at the end of One Child and The Little Prince theme remind me that we'll always be together, dancing in the sunshine. I was also amazed to see how much time has passed since One Child was written. I didn't have any idea that Torey ever lived so close to me(I'm from ND) and I think it's really cool that her daughter is my age. She is so lucky to have such an amazing mom! Well, thanks for letting me share my thoughts, and thanks, Torey, for being such an amazing inspiration for us all.
