I too, have read Torey Hayden's book "Ghost Girl" and I must say that I found it very interesting and I love the way Torey gives us a peek into her "world". But your post, Dr. Christine Stanley, has made me read some more about elective mutism and I'm thankful that you made this point since I've now,hopefully, also learnd even more about elective mutism. If I understand it correctly, elective mutism is based on not talking at all in some situations.. but the cause has many feautures? Anyway, I will find out even more if I keep reading!
